Sari Prima Energi owns a working area in Tampomas Mountain, located in regions of Sumedang and subang, West Java, 140 Kms Southeast of Jakarta or 70 Kms Northeast of Bandung, after taking over 70% of Wijaya Karya Karya Jabar stock at 9th January 2013.


The width of Geothermal working area in Tampomas Mountain is 27,000 Ha which lies between 300-600 m above sea level. This area is surrounded by rice field and plantation owned by local people.

The study of geology, geophysics, and geochemical has been conducted by 2 consultants who have a well-reputation in geothermal field, which are ELECTRO CONSULTANT (ELC, Italy) and PARSONS BRINCKERHOFF (PB, New Zealand). The study conducted by PB confirms the theory that conducted previously by ELC.


The main geology structure of WKP in Tampomas Mountain lies from Southwest to Northeast and also from Northwest to Southeast which controls the distribution manifestation and geothermal system in Tampomas Mountain. The geology structure is reactivated along with the tectonic activity of the “Indo - Australia and South - East Asian” plates.


Tampomas Mountain geothermal area is restricted by Graben Fault from Southwest to Northeast which happens to be the source of Tampomas Mountain geothermal energy. It is predicted the source comes from the magma inside Tampomas Mountain.


Heat Surface Manifestation which is in the form of hot spring in Tampomas, spread over at north-east slope and one of them appears at south-west slope of the mountain.


It is predicted there will be at least two geothermal reservoirs, the deep geothermal reservoir and the shallow geothermal reservoir, which in Water Dominated–Medium Enthalpy Reservoir (temperature <200 °C). Besides, ELC predicted there will be a deeper reservoir which called “Primary Reservoir”. Geothermal potential contained is about 55MW. It is predicted there will be an increasing after the drilling in two different places has been completed.
